No platform has paid for coverage, favorable reviews, or any form of editorial influence. Our rankings and verdicts reflect our honest assessment. We have turned down editorial input from platforms that have reached out, and we have written critical coverage of platforms we earn commissions from.
Our review process
Every platform review on this site is written after we have:
- Opened a real account with real personal information
- Funded the account with real money
- Placed real trades across multiple market categories
- Tested the withdrawal process at least once
- Read the platform's terms of service, privacy policy, and regulatory filings
- Checked public CFTC records for any enforcement actions or fines
Where relevant, we also test customer support response times, mobile apps, and cross-device sync.
How we rate platforms
Our platform ratings consider:
- Regulatory standing and track record
- Market breadth and liquidity
- Pricing, fees, and spreads
- User experience and interface quality
- Customer support responsiveness
- Withdrawal speed and reliability
Ratings are reviewed and updated quarterly or whenever a material change occurs.
Factchecking
Every factual claim in our articles is sourced. Where we cite a statistic, we link to or reference the original source. Where we describe a platform feature, we have verified it directly. Where we summarize regulatory filings or court decisions, we have read the source documents.
We use AI tools as part of our research and drafting process, but every published article is reviewed and edited by a human before publication.
Corrections policy
If we get something wrong, we fix it. Material corrections are noted at the bottom of the affected article with a date. Minor typo fixes do not get correction notes.
If you believe an article contains an error, email corrections@californiapredictionmarkets.com with the article URL, the claim you believe is wrong, and any supporting sources. We aim to respond within 48 hours.
Updates and freshness
Prediction markets move fast. We review every pillar article at least quarterly and update any claims that have become stale. Each article carries a "Last updated" date at the top. Seasonal content (playoffs, elections, tournament coverage) is updated more frequently during the active period.
Responsible coverage
We cover financial products that involve risk of loss. We do not romanticize trading, promote specific market positions, or frame prediction markets as a way to get rich. Our responsible trading page covers this in more depth.
